OYE THIS!: Sameblod “Loud”

Sameblod have just released “Loud”, the first single from their debut album out later this year and featuring the art work of Anna Johannesson.  The Swedish duo occupied a cozy number three spot on our Best EPs of 2011 list along with an appearance on our Best Songs of 2011 list.  According to the band’s Facebook page: live shows will happen when our debut album is here or near.

Sameblod – Our Future EP & Show Info

Stockholm, Sweden based Sameblod, Frederick Rundqvist and Mikael Mattisson, met a little over a year ago and decided to work together to create some music. What resulted was Our Future EP released late April of this year; five tracks of purely dreamy, well-constructed electro-pop with a splash of ’80s. -stirred not shaken. The obvious track to gravitate to is “Talk Shit” because of its catchy title but Our Future EP is more than just that one great track. The opening “Feel My Breath” is a beautifully written love song set perfectly against a dance tune. This seems to be the case with all the songs on Our Future EP, that they really are well-written songs. It’s obvious Rundqvist and Mattisson have great synergy and we can only hope we hear more of Sameblod, if we don’t we’ll have to bitch and moan, and talk shit.
